Leslie of JT's Shoe Care Presents The 2nd Annual Skate-A-Thon for the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund October 20, 2008 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. @ Roller Time Skating Rink 707 Arcadia Circle Joyce Hampton is a breast cancer survivor that is using her God given talents to help others in need. Please join her in her endeavors to raise money to help those who are going through the trauma and treatments for cancer. Last year, she participated and created a team for the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run and Breast Cancer Survivor's Walk. What a great experience!! Her team raised over $1,100 for the cause. Also, two days later on October 21st she gave a Skate-A-Thon for Liz Hurley's Breast Cancer Fund and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Liz Hurley was present and everyone was so happy to see her. Liz Hurley is a news anchor for channel 48 news. She's also breast cancer survivor. She's made great strides for the cause. This event was full of excitement and entertainment. The Huntsville Police Officers singing group "Blue Notes" performed acappella and Audrey Crutcher, a teacher with Madison County School System sang. Joyce is a member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She invited Union Chapel's Praise Dance Team featuring Tiffany Byers to perform and also Audra Allen was an awesome host! They were awesome!! WEUP set up a live remote outside and LifeSouth Bloodmobile set up outside for blood donations. The Bama Jama Skate Crew performed and Joyce Hampton joined in with them. The Dogg Pound Skate Club was also present for support. Also, there were boy scouts, cancer insurance representatives, good music, good skating, and door prizes. |
